The Redcliffe Kite Festival [ https://www.redcliffekitefest.com.au/] has caught me buy surprise – we can all thank Danny for watching over me while I’m keeping the seat warm in his job 👏😁 Therefore, instead of smoko at Pelican Park we’re now going to Endeavour Park right up the other end of the Peninsula to avoid what is possibly the biggest event that happens on the Redcliffe Peninsula at the same time every year...

Here's a Club Rally so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it Mr Fox 🦊

• ~60km from Meetup point 1 to Smoko, ~90-mins driving time including the stop at meetup point 2. 
• BYO smoko, just like we all did on the Australia Day picnic to Red Cedar. 
• BYO chairs, too, just in case you're not sick of sitting down 😉

Remember last time we tried to get to Redcliffe for a Club rally and it rained for, like, 3-weeks straight?! Well the time has come to go back...that's back to the Peninsula for a two-stage rocketship ride of fun and fabulous adventure 🚀

MEET-UP #1 - SOUTHSIDERS, WESTIES & GOLD COASTERS: 

   Lions@Springwood, from 7:30AM for an 8:00AM-sharp departure. 

• The first crew will drive in loose formation ~45-mins to meet-up with the second crew at...

MEET-UP #2 - NORTHSIDERS & BAYSIDERS: 

   Nudgee Service Centre, from 8:30AM for a 9:00AM departure

• Once we're all gathered and pointed in the same direction, the new Super Group will convoy ~45-mins to smoko...
• Leaving the Service Centre, re-enter the Gateway Motorway (Northbound) and continue North for 7-km
• Approaching Depot Rd, get to the left lane of the Motorway and take Exit 120A for Deagon Deviation/State Route 26
• Continue on to the Deagon Deviation/State Route 26 and follow North for 6.5-km
• Cross the Houghton Highway Bridge then stay in the left 2-lanes to continue North on Elizabeth Avenue from Clontarf toward Scarborough. Elizabeth Avenue turns into Snook St – continue North for ~4-km.
• At Anzac Avenue intersection, remain in the left 2-lanes to continue across Anzac Ave to Boardman Rd. In 600-metres, take the 2nd exit at the roundabout to stay on Boardman Rd.
• At the end of Boardman Rd, at the roundabout, take the second exit on to Griffith Rd. Follow Griffith Rd for 1.6-km.
• Turn left into Newport Drive. In 650-metres, at the end of Newport Drive, our destination will be directly in front of us. 
• Park anywhere along Endeavour Esplanade.

SMOKO: 

   Endeavour Park, Endeavour Esplanade, Newport

• Arriving ~9:45AM at the park, the Club will be setting up the big shade and a couple of tables. 

STAGE 2: Here's where the plan gets REALLY cunning! 🦊 Once we're done with smoko, the group is going to split up for two (or more) very different ways to end the rally. 

1. Danny will be leading the first group up to the REDCLIFFE MARKETS via his super-secret, pre-arranged, completely free off-street parking spot on Anzac Avenue. A comfortable walking distance from the markets. 
2. Alan (me) will be leading the second group on a lazy cruise to a nice, quiet spot out at the Bayside where we can get an ice-cream 🍨 and chill in the Sun - that's likely gonna be Lota Reserve on the Esplanade.
3. The Redcliffe Kite Festival at Clontarf! Feel free to make your own way down to check that out.
4. Big lunch at Scarborough! You’ve got Morgans, the MBBC, Sea Salt & Vine AND MORE all within spitting distance of Endeavour Park.
